Association of Surgeons in Training

A fantastic resource for surgeons in training.

The Association was originally established in 1976 and is the second largest surgical specialty association in the UK with over 2,700 members, from all ten surgical specialties. ASiT membership costs just £40 when a medical student or £60 otherwise, serving the needs of trainees through training courses, grants, prizes and fellowships.

PRISM

The UCL surgical outcomes research centre is a fantastic resource targeted at using measurement to improve quality in perioperative health care. SOuRCe offers a series of fellowships in quality improvement and measurement that can lead to the attainment of a higher research degree.

PRISM produced by Dr Maria Chazapis of SOuRCe has excellent educational resources in quality improvement methodology, including RCOA curriculum linked introductory modules in improvement science.
